Update – June 4, 2020

I have to say that the first week of students returning to class was a success.  It was great to see the children’s smiling faces.  Although school looks very different right now, to see more students in the hallways and in the classrooms energized all of the staff.  Even the staff who have not been in the school were happy to connect with their colleagues and their students.  Students who were here did a very good job of following protocols like, using hand sanitizer, washing hands regularly, social distancing, not sharing supplies or food, etc.  The staff were very impressed.

If you were waiting to see how the first week went and are considering sending your child to school next week or the coming weeks you can.  Please contact me directly through email (djones@sd40.bc.ca) and we will send you a schedule for the two half days your child’s class is in attendance.

With the current change in the regular routine, we are unable to have our usual tours for our incoming families for next year.  We have created a virtual video tour.  Three students Stella, Abby and Sylvie were happy to help with giving their perspectives about; the first day of school, being at middle school, exploratory classes, the staff and words of wisdom.  They did an amazing job of presenting their points of view. I want to thank them for their hard work and energetic positivity.  I’m sure their comments will help the new students feel a bit more at ease with their big change.  Thank you!

In the link below, you will find information about summer school.  This is general information and is targeted for students currently in grade 7 and 8.  Some families will receive an email directly if your child has been recommended by their teacher to attend summer school this year.

As always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours truly,
